About Me

Hello and welcome!

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and a cookie and let’s sit and get to know each other. This small spot on the web is my happy place, and I’m thrilled you let me share it with you.

I’m a woman in the middle of my mid-life crisis and loving every minute of it. Really, I am.

As a foster mother and wife of a loving husband, I’ve spent a long time wiping noses and butts, and kitchen counters–not with the same rag. I’ve loved almost every minute of my marriage and children’s early childhood.

Then they grew up.

Last summer, we had six teens under one roof (I don’t suggest it). At the end of the summer, however, something terrifying and wonderful happened. Two of the oldest moved out (I DO suggest that) and after the tears dried up and my eyes stopped swelling, I found myself with enough free time to create this web page.

Why? Well, why not? I’ve worked on other people’s web pages and decided it’s high time I had my own. Besides, I still have a wonderfully busy life that I want to write about and share. Thankfully, there are far less boogers and naked butts in this part of my life.

I’m still a wife and mother, but I now have time to also be an artist, a new writer, a teacher, and Scout leader. Each of those parts of my life will find their way onto this blog somewhere.

So take a sip of that drink or a nibble of the cookie and have a look around. Leave a comment or ask a question. I’d love to hear from you!

A little too late in the day for food or drink, especially after my church talent night refreshments. Nice idea though and useful for future visits. No worries about cat paws or finger prints on the blog.

Beautiful site, Kayla. Fall foliage is one of the only things I really miss about the North(east in my case). And thanks for the Fictionista tip!
